Women's Summer Fashion Trends
It's the year of vintage 50's styling. We seen a few attempts in past fashion years to try and bring back those classic vintage styles, but mostly it was just a mish mosh of 60's and 70's hippy style with 50's style accents. Not this time around. We've gone full on 50's. We're talking classic, elegant, simple, and sexy. Think Jackie O and Mary Tyler Moore. Those thrift shops are going to be in business this year for sure.
Evening Wear
This Summer will have you seeing red. An elegantly simple 50's Hollywood starlet look with candy apple lips and mid-length red dress to match are great for a night out on the town. Spice it up with a cute little dark toned clutch purse. For those hot Summer nights in the city you're in luck, because laced fabrics are in this year. No need to whistle for a cab. Thin strapped, black high heels will give a sexy sleek look that will have all the taxis stopping.Avail Fashion Bug Coupons for Evening wear.
Shopping Attire
During the day keep that vintage feel going with some good ole Americana prints. Accessorize with printed handbags, chunky bangles, and a nice big sash. Don't be caught outside in sneakers though. This year it's all about going bare, and showing off those brightly colored toenails in some open toed sandals and heels. Don't forget the pedicure or the manicure.
Active Wear
With the UK Olympics just around the corner, everyone is in sports mode. Fashion icons like Victoria Beckham, DKNY, Kenzo, and Stella McCartney are this Summers designers to watch. Their performance fabrics mated with more feminine attire are bringing sexy back to ladies athletics wear. If you're the active type of gal keep it trim and proper. Body hugging curves with peekaboo edges are a home run. Revealing is not in though. Loose the V-necks and cheeky shorts.
Beach Wear
If you're headed to the beach don't forget your sundress and big straw hat. It's not just about sun protection. This year less is more (irresistible), so cover yourself up. One piece bathing suits are back big time, and striped prints are where it's at. Yes, it's still okay to wear a 2 piece suit, but thongs and tiny bikini bottoms are a no-no. Granny panty style hip-hugging bottoms are a yes-yes.
Office Wear
Gone are the days of slaving in the kitchen in an apron and high heels. Today's gal is all about business. But not the manly look of the 80's and 90's. I'm looking at you Murphy Brown! Ditch the shoulder pads and men's pantsuits. The modern woman knows how to be strong and confident (fierce), while looking beautifully feminine. Stripes and simple patterns also work well for the office, but stick with neutral tan and brown shades or 2 toned colors for a more professional look.
And that's the top summer fashions ladies. Finally the 50's have come back in style. I'm a fan. I am shocked about the granny panty bottoms for the beach though. I never liked them, but when I saw them on the runway they were oddly appealing.
